Earlier this spring, Sea Fur Sewing was fortunate enough to win Spruce Root Path to Prosperity competition. That win opened anotherRead more door for this little business of ours and gave me the opportunity to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time — completely rebuild our website.
With that support, I was able to hire Cedar Group Marketing & PR out of Juneau, an Alaska Native-owned company, to design and build the new site. They took my ideas, photos, products, culture, and the story behind Sea Fur Sewing and somehow put it all together — including all that behind-the-scenes computer stuff that is WAY above my pay grade. 😂
A huge Gunalchéesh to Spruce Root for believing in what I’m doing and for the investment they continue to make in entrepreneurs and businesses throughout Southeast Alaska.
And a huge thank you to the folks at Cedar Group for listening to me, learning what Sea Fur Sewing is really about, and building something that I feel represents us.
This business has come a long way from where it started, but the heart of it hasn’t changed. It’s still about our culture, our people, utilizing our resources, feeding our families and Elders, creating something beautiful, and passing that knowledge on.
I’m pretty dang proud of how this turned out.

Was a fun day fishing with RJ today Peril Sky. We weren’t as successful as last year, but we found tuna in our Alaska waters again. That in itself seems like a pretty major accomplishment.
Only difference this year is we had to work a little harder for them — about 60 miles straight Read moreout from Sitka into the big ocean.
Pretty damn cool to know they’re out there. Even better getting to chase them with my son. Another Alaska tuna adventure in the books.
